WPTR broadcasts at 1000 watts unrestricted (day and night), originating from Rotterdam, NY at the Via Port Mall, just off of Rt. 890 and neighboring General Electrics headquarters.

WPTR's signal covers all major cities in the Capital Region, including Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park, Latham and Amsterdam.

  • Northway from Albany to Saratoga Springs, including the 'Twin Bridges
  • The Thruway from Amsterdam, NY to New Baltimore, NY.

Studio

WPTR operates a full-time studio located at the Via Port Mall in Schenectady, NY.

WPTR's studios contain two soundproof studios, including one room for pre-production (advertisements, voiceovers) and a 'live room' for live on-air talk, room for round-table interviews and phone calls. WPTR has an extenstive collection of vinyl records and CDs, with the capacity to play media in all formats.
